Sea Scouts

Bancroft's Sea Scouts is the Scout group at Bancroft's; the troop is open to boys and girls from Prep 2 (year 5) to the Lower Fourth (year 9). Sea Scouts do all the activities associated with Scouts, but also experience a wide range of water-based activities. In the Summer Term, Scouts have the chance to get on the water at Fairlop Waters. Under the supervision of the leadership team they are taught sailing, kayaking and rowing. Sometimes it can all get very wet! Activities in the winter centre around the school gym and swimming pool. Our Sea Scouts also make use of nearby Gilwell Park.

Bancroft’s Sea Scouts is an exciting opportunity, and it is guaranteed to provide many hours of fun and unforgettable experiences!

All activities are run by a highly qualified group of leaders whose qualifications allow a wide range of activities to be run safely including: dinghy and yacht sailing, kayaking, rowing, power boating, climbing and swimming.

Highlight of the year is the week-long summer camp. Held in the summer holidays, camp includes many exciting land and water activities and challenges. A number of other camps occur throughout the year, such as stays on HMS Bristol in Portsmouth for water activities and a Christmas camp for land activities such as hiking, fire lighting and cooking.
