Being Bancroft’s

At Bancroft鈥檚, we take pride in our comprehensive approach to pupil development, revolving around an educational framework known as Being Bancroft鈥檚.

We see our Being Bancroft’s programme as extending a pupil鈥檚 commitment as a Bancroftian beyond academics and embracing a holistic approach to school life.

This is a rounded educational philosophy running through the whole of the school which guides pupils to take full advantage of the huge range of different opportunities on offer; whether immersed in academic research, being out on the sports fields, taking part in charitable activities, acting on the stage, playing music or attending some of our numerous clubs and societies, we want our pupils to challenge themselves and learn by taking part wholeheartedly in school life.

Our Five Strands

Community
Futures
Scholarship
Creativity
Physical Activity

Lower School

To complete the first two years of Being Bancroft鈥檚, pupils must provide two pieces of evidence per strand of the framework each year.

Middle School

Pupils choose six activities to complete throughout the year. Pupils select at least one task per strand and choose one strand where they will take on two tasks.

For each activity, pupils will:

  1. Provide a brief description: They explain what the activity involved and why they chose it.
  2. Present evidence: This could include photos, videos, or examples of their work, showcasing their involvement.
  3. Reflect on the experience: Pupils share their learning journey, highlighting how the activity has influenced them and benefited others, the school, or the wider community.

We emphasise sustained commitment in every task.

Through their reflections, pupils demonstrate the impact of their efforts, showcasing their growth, leadership, and contribution to the community. This programme is a key part of our mission to provide a transformative experience for every child, ensuring they leave us as confident, thoughtful, and engaged young adults.
